Area Attractions

The Town of Wasaga Beach is a popular four-season tourist destination situated in Simcoe County at the southern end of Georgian Bay and has many natural area attractions. It is nestled in and around 14 kilometres of white sandy beach on Nottawasaga Bay and the winding Nottawasaga River.

Over two million people visit the town every summer to stroll the shores of the longest freshwater beach in the world, swim in warm clean waters and enjoy the panoramic mountain view across the Bay.

Saga Resort is located within a 3 minute walk to the main beach at Beach Area One.

Summer (July and August) in Wasaga Beach is the most popular and busiest time of the year. The weather is usually consistent, lovely and warm. The water at the beach warms nicely as it is very shallow and a few days of hot sunshine brings up the temperature quickly.

The Off-Season is probably Wasaga Beach’s best kept secret. It is perfect for couples and outdoor enthusiasts. Just around the corner from the Resort you will find endless recreation trails for fun exploring adventures, hiking and biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.

Nearby golf courses offer spectacular scenery and distinct challenges, Marlwood Golf and Country Club, The Links at New England Village, and Wasaga Sands Golf and Country Club are located in Wasaga, with several more within a short drive.

Take advantage of our lower Off-Season rates, grab that special someone and whisk them away for a romantic escape from the everyday. Enjoy our Jacuzzi Suites which feature in-room Jacuzzi tubs for two, king size beds, electric fireplaces for that romantic ambiance, large cable TVs with DVD players and full kitchens. It’s the perfect way to relax, and unwind.

Ski Resorts

Another great reason to come to the area is our central location to 4 great ski locations, all within a half hour drive: Blue Mountain, Horseshoe Valley, Snow Valley and Moonstone. Many of these destinations offer ski and snowboard rentals, day/night lift passes, and snow-tubing. Check out their respective websites for additional information and prices.
